Where Does Your Food Come From?

Children in the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District’s Activity Center program at Roosevelt School learned about growing food. Using produce provided by the Victory Gardens at the Missouri River Correction Center and the North Dakota State Pen, the kids got a little lesson on how produce is grown and got tips and recipes on how to cook it. All the produce was then sent home with the kids.  Who knew that carrots can help connect students to local food and local growers! Kudos to Bismarck Public Schools and Bismarck Burleigh Public Health for their help.
