The Board of Park Commissioners has selected Kevin Klipfel for the position of executive director of Bismarck Parks and Recreation District effective Oct. 2, following the retirement of Randy Bina.

In 2019, he received the Distinguished Professional Award from the North Dakota Recreation & Park Association.
“The Board of Park Commissioners conducted a national search for the executive director position, and Kevin rose to the top of the candidates with his professionalism, experience and understanding of the community,” says Julie Jeske, Board of Park Commissioners president. “Kevin’s knowledge of the park district and expertise in the field will ensure a smooth transition for staff and community partners. We look forward to working with Kevin as he leads our award-winning and accredited agency into the next era.”
“I appreciate the trust the board has placed in me to lead BPRD into the future,” says Klipfel. “We will continue our work to provide affordable, accessible and sustainable public parks and recreation services in Bismarck as we evolve and grow to meet the ever-changing needs of the community.”
