Community Survey Results Released
Accessibility of parks, trails, programs and facilities ranks as the greatest strength of Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD), according to a Community Input Survey undertaken earlier this year. Quality of parks and trails and affordability of programs and facilities round out the top three strengths of BPRD.
“Interest in places and programs that provide safe, affordable and accessible recreation opportunities for all continues to grow, along with our community,” says Kevin Klipfel, BPRD executive director. “We appreciate the input provided by the community as we look ahead to the next three years as part of our strategic planning process at the park district.”
According to the survey, the quality of facilities provides the greatest opportunity for improvement by BPRD. Outdoor facilities of most interest to Bismarck residents include hiking and paved recreational trails, while aquatic spaces and a climbing wall top the list for indoor facilities. Keeping up with our community’s growth remains the most important issue facing BPRD over the next three years, based on survey responses.
A total of 1,251 responses were received for BPRD’s Community Input Survey conducted in January.
