Bismarck Board of Park Commissioners Brief for Nov. 16, 2023
Three Eagle Scouts shared their projects as Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) featured partners. Jackson Sperry, Troop 123, built hen houses near wetlands at Cottonwood Park, Johnny Gisi Memorial Park and Gateway Pond Loop Trail. Dalton Rouse, Troop 1006, built 20 bird houses at McDowell Dam Recreation Area. Jake Fischer, Troop 1073, built a sharing table at Tatley-Eagles Community Gardens.
Darin Will, Northwest Contracting, provided an update on the VFW Sports Center project, which is expected be complete by Feb. 29, 2024.
The Board approved changes to the Accounting Policy and Procedure Handbook.
The Board approved changes to the Human Resource Policy and Procedure Handbook.
The Board approved the first reading of the proposed updates to Park District ordinances.
The Board approved the 2024 Matching Grant application, authorized staff to select a consultant for BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center pool deck resurfacing, and approved petitioning the City of Bismarck to annex lands contained within the Clairmont Family Conservation Park.
The next regularly scheduled Board meeting is Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at 5:15 p.m. in the Tom Baker Meeting Room.
