Atkinson Nature Park

This natural wooded area is now open for use. Even the gravel parking lot, lined with logs, is welcoming and woodsy.

This park is located just south of the Walt Neuens Horse Arena, 1909 Riverwood Drive. There is a 1.65 mile hiking and horse trail that has interpretive panels and lessons. The trail connects users to the existing trail system.  What are all those white looking things? Those are the devices that will protect the 4,000 (yes, that is the correct number of zeros) trees that are to be planted here. This park was made possible by a donation of land and funds from the Atkinson family, a grant from the ND Outdoor Heritage Fund, help with parking lot and trail construction from Doosan Bobcat and plantings from Dakota Audubon.
