Bismarck Board of Park Commissioners Brief for Dec. 15, 2022


The Board approved the single prime base bid for the Park Shop Chemical & Paint Storage Project from Dakota West Contracting Inc. for $81,000.

Mark Trieglaff, ACTServices Inc., provided a summary of Phase II work on the ADA Access and Audit Transition Plan. He reviewed the four levels of priority changes required to meet ADA standards using examples from BPRD parks and facilities. Trieglaff noted that BPRD spaces have an exceptionally high level of accessibility, despite not meeting code in all areas.

The Board approved the list of professional consultants for 2023-2024.

The Board approved year-end transfers for capital projects and equipment purchases.

The Board approved writing off a past due accounts receivable balance for damage at a golf course.

The Board authorized staff to begin the rezoning process for the residential lots in the Hay Creek Park Addition along 26th Street and approved the sale of the lots.

The Board authorized staff to apply for a North Dakota Game and Fish Department grant for boat dock replacement at Hoge Island; approved golf fee updates to the 2023 fee schedule; approved reclassification of maintenance position to an equipment maintenance specialist position; and approved the BPRD Comprehensive Plan, BPRD Conservation and Cultural Plan, and BPRD Recreation Programming Plan.

The Board recognized outgoing Commissioner Monson.
