Meeting Recap for Sept. 17, 2020
Kathy Feist, Bismarck Parks and Recreation District Finance Director, presented the 2021 Bismarck Parks and Recreation District Operating Budget. The 2021 budget is a balanced budget with no increase in mills. The Board of Park Commissioner’s approved the budget.
The Board heard from Amy Jo Johnson and Rhonda Styles-Rohde regarding the history and success of the annual Family Day Riverwalk event in Sertoma Park.
The Board heard updates on two capital projects. The road and the parking lot at Chief Looking’s Village has been reconstructed and new guardrails were installed. Ten holes of cart paths at Riverwood Golf Course have been resurfaced.
The Silbernagle family wishes to donate 25.4 acres of land in the Silver Ranch Third Addition subdivision to Bismarck Parks and Recreation District to develop a greenway. The Board approved this donation and also agreed to amendments in the park development agreement for the Silver Ranch First and Second Additions.
RaNae Jochim, Recreation Manager with Bismarck Parks and Recreation District, was congratulated on receiving the Distinguished Professional Award from the North Dakota Recreation and Park Association.
The next Board of Park Commissioner’s meeting is Thursday, October 22nd at 5:15pm in the Tom Baker Meeting Room.
