Tesoro Supports 22nd Annual Tree Planting
Mandan, N.D. – May 19, 2012- Tesoro Corporation’s (NYSE: TSO) Mandan, North Dakota refinery employees will plant trees on Saturday, May 19, as part of Arbor Month activities. Joining Tesoro will be volunteers from the Mandan and Bismarck Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Mandan and Bismarck City Forestry and Parks and Recreation. Over 600 community volunteers are expected to participate.
The planting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in and around Bismarck’s Sertoma Park near Shelter #10. In addition to planting 900 trees and bushes, volunteers will also spring clean the area. The Mandan planting will start also at 10:30 a.m. near the Mandan Softball Complex fields 5, 6, 7 and 8 next to Kiwanis Park.
“The Bismarck and Mandan communities are enjoying more trees because of our partnership with the parks and recreations folks and the Boy and Girl Scouts for 22 years,” said John Berger Refinery Manager. “Tesoro is proud to be a part of this community tradition.”
Volunteers will also enjoy a picnic lunch provided by Tesoro as part of the day’s activities. When the work is done, everyone involved in the tree planting is invited to enjoy a swim at the BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center in Bismarck.
