Spring has arrived! Golf courses are open. Parks are being cleaned. Trails are already in full use all across Bismarck. It’s time to think about all your spring and summer recreation plans. We are here to help. Be sure to take a look at all our programs, both inside and out, and let us help you create a healthy and active summer for you and your entire family. Read on….

Online Registration: Life just got a little easier. Please note that you can register for our programs online. We would love to see you, but we can save you the trip to our offices or facilities. Just go to www.bisparks.org to register. Click, click, done!

Train for a 5K or 10K run this summer!  Running classes are eight weeks and meet at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center twice a week.  Classes are designed for beginner and intermediate runners and begin June 14. 

Want to learn how to play tennis?  Register for 6-3-1 Adult Beginner Tennis Lessons held at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center.  Classes are Wednesdays, June 16 - 28 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Participants get 6 weeks of lessons, 3 hours of court time and 1 free tennis racquet. 

Left, right, left right left!  Register today for monthly summer Bootcamps, led by Capital Racquet & Fitness Center personal trainer Jen Jorgensen.

Get a team together and play Coed Softball this summer.  Games are played Sundays at 6:30 p.m. at Cottonwood Complex.  Fees are $15/player and a sponsor fee of $135 if paid before May 21. 



Play outside the box with the Playground in a Box!  Imagination Playground is a breakthrough play concept designed to encourage child-directed, unstructured “free play,” the kind of play that is important to a child’s development. Playground in a Box will be featured at the BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center grand opening, it will be an event at the Prairie Rose State Games and it will be utilized year-round at both indoor and outdoor facilities.  Click here for more information.

If you're interested in learning more about tennis, here's your chance.  Check out the United States Tennis Association's (USTA) Tennis Block Party on May 1 from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center.  By the way, it's free!



The Prairie Rose State Games are returning to Bismarck/Mandan on July 9 - 11.  Enjoy the pageantry of the Opening Ceremony and participate in any of 46 events.  Pick up an Entry Book at the Bismarck Park District (entry books will be available at park districts across the state) and register online at www.prairierose.org.  For more information, visit the PRSG website or call 222-GAME.

Free Bootcamp at the Bismarck Community Bowl, Thursday, May 6, 6 – 7 p.m. as part of the BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center Grand Opening.  Watch for more information on the BSC AWC Grand Opening coming soon!

The Subway Get Fit Roadrace is back for its second year!  Race starts Saturday, August 14 at 8:30 a.m. at the Bismarck Community Bowl.  Divisions include 5K Run, 5K Walk, 10K Run and 1 mile Youth Fun Run.  Register online at www.bisparks.org beginning May 1.



Come one come all and check out the new BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center.  The grand opening will take place May 6 - 9 at the Aquatic Center.

Looking for one-on-one fitness training? Jen at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center is a certified personal trainer and can provide a fitness program to fit your lifestyle. Trainers Erica and Jacob are available at the BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center.
